Coverity
Releases Version 2.0 of its Defect Detection Platform
Menlo Park, CA – Coverity, Inc.
announced today that version 2.0 of the SWAT platform
for the C and C++ programming languages is now available
to both existing and new customers. Version 2.0 of the
platform includes a full upgrade to the core source
code analysis and defect detection technology that allows
the SWAT tools to detect up to 3 times the number of
bugs detected by the latest 1.x release. In addition,
version 2.0 includes full support for both nightly build
integration and integration on every developer’s
desktop, so that costly software errors can easily be
detected and removed before a developer even commits
the offending code to the centralized source repository.
Version 2.0 is also the first version of SWAT with full
support for C++ code and C++ coding constructs, including
templates, exceptions, virtual functions, and the Standard
Template Library.
About Coverity
Coverity, Inc. sells the SWAT Platform
for C and C++, which analyzes source code and reports
costly defects and security holes. SWAT integrates seamlessly
into any development environment allowing organizations
to adopt SWAT without changing any existing processes.
The SWAT platform can report hundreds of critical defects
in a large software project within hours of installation.
In addition, because SWAT analyzes the source code directly,
it is able to detect defects in the earliest stages
of the development cycle before any of the traditional
testing and quality assurance work begins. For more
