Coverity Wins LinuxWorld Conference and Expo Award
Open Source Scan Site Recognized as Best Application Development Tool

LINUXWORLD - SAN FRANCISCO, August 8, 2007 – Coverity, Inc., the leader in improving software quality and security, today announced that it has won the Product Excellence Award for Best Application Development Tool at the 2007 LinuxWorld Expo in San Francisco.

Created in partnership with the United States Department of Homeland Security to improve the security of open source code, the Coverity Scan website provides advanced static code analysis from Coverity's industry-leading Prevent solution for C/C++ and Java based open source projects.

Coverity received the LinuxWorld Conference and Expo Award for Best Application Development tool due to the expanded functionality of the company's Scan site. These features include support for Java-based open source code projects, and new automated analysis capabilities that increase the number of open source projects the site can analyze for quality and security defects.
