Coverity Education and Certification
Coverity provides a training and certification program that enables our Partners and Power Users to deploy and maximize the utilization of Coverity® development testing solutions. Benefit from an interactive learning experience that includes lectures, classroom discussions and hands-on lab exercises. The Coverity Certified Professional Program validates and certifies technical competency and puts you on the path to career enhancement, as well as greater success in your development testing efforts.
Schedule
Classes are hosted regularly at various Coverity training locations. This instructor-led environment provides hands-on experience with our development testing solutions in a lab environment. We also offer custom on-site training at your facility.
A solid understanding of your organization's build processes is required, and an understanding of compilers, programming languages and familiarity with the other tools used by developers is highly recommended.

Training Program Overview
The Coverity training program helps ensure you are getting the most out of your technology investment by improving the proficiency of your technical experts in installing, configuring and maintaining our development testing solutions.
You will be guided through an extensive mix of instructor-led discussions, real-life scenarios and hands-on lab experiences, covering everything you need to know about managing and maximizing the efficiency of the Coverity Development Testing Platform and its components.
Target Audience
These courses are designed for the Coverity Administrator who is responsible for properly configuring, deploying, and maintaining Coverity solutions. A solid understanding of your organization's build processes is required, and an understanding of compilers, programming languages, and familiarity with the other tools used by developers is highly recommended.

Courses
Coverity Quality Advisor
This 4 day, hands-on and interactive instructor-led course provides you with the knowledge needed to deploy and administer Coverity Quality Advisor in your development environment. You will learn how to properly plan and deploy Coverity Quality Advisor, including configuration options appropriate for a particular set of compilers, external tools, and internal development processes. We will cover common failure scenarios and appropriate remediation steps, as well as best practices to ensure maximum user adoption. This course enables you to improve user adoption and maximize return on investment.
Coverity Test Advisor
This 3 day, hands-on and interactive instructor-led course provides you with the knowledge needed to deploy and administer Coverity Test Advisor within your development environment. You will get an overview of the Coverity Test Advisor architecture, learn how to create and modify test policies, and how to configure and optimize Coverity Test Advisor for your build environment. We will also discuss workflow best practices, setting up project streams, components, user groups and metrics to track code test coverage and test violations.
Coverity Quality Advisor + Coverity Test Advisor
This five day, hands-on course provides the knowledge needed to asses, plan, deploy and manage the Coverity Quality Advisor and Coverity Test Advisor solutions. You will learn how to properly plan and implement Coverity Quality Advisor and Coverity Test Advisor, including configuration options appropriate for a particular set of compilers, external tools and internal development processes. The course will cover common failure scenarios and appropriate remediation steps, as well as best practices to maximize useradoption. You will also be given training and materials for a Coverity User course, which you can distribute to your organization.
Coverity Super User
This course is designed to train a Coverity Super User – typically a developer responsible for reviewing, triaging and ultimately fixing Coverity-found defects. A solid understanding of programming language concepts is required to get the most from this class. Developers will learn how the analysis identifies different types of defects using intra- and inter-procedural analysis, which helps interpret Coverity results. Hands-on exercises will teach shortcuts to quickly identify root causes of defects. The course will conclude with a Q&A session led by a Coverity expert.
Certification
The Coverity Certified Professional Program enables our Partners and Power Users to deploy and maximize the utilization of Coverity development testing solutions. Certification levels are based upon the type of technology specialization you achieve, and reflect your breadth of skills across key development testing solutions. The Coverity Certified Professional Program validates and certifies technical competency and puts you on the path to career enhancement, as well as greater success in your development testing efforts. Take advantage of our hands-on training while increasing your effectiveness and marketability.
Participants follow a four-step path to certification:
- Attend specialized training courses
- Successfully complete an online exam
- Successfully complete a hands on certification lab exam
- Receive certification which is valid for 12 months or two major releases
